COLOR TIME!
Finally, finally, finally — it is time to start making the colors happen! This is what I’ve been waiting for, through asbestos abatement, trench-digging, electrical rigging, plastering, etc. — all those infrastructure-type things.
I tried to watch and learn, and I did learn a lot. I feel confident for the next time I tackle contracting work. But now it’s time for the really personal aspects — the colors and the finishing touches.
The painter was here this morning and he’s starting on Thursday. Normally I do my own painting, but this is a big, complicated job and involves painting what is essentially furniture — the open shelving, built-in bench, and the antique, glass-door cabinet.
The paint swatches in the photo are three shades of green that I’ll be using on the various walls. The differences are subtle, and I expect that the result will be subtle, as well. The open shelves and the antique glass-door cabinet will both have a clean, white enamel finish and green on the inside. Somewhere there will be a small punch of orange-red.
It’s kind of hard to imagine with just my words, but I’ll be putting up pictures of it all in process.
And I ordered that rug from the new CB2 catalog. It’s just what I’ve been looking for. Does anyone have experience with FLOR rugs?
