Anonymous asked: Hi, I found your flick set last year and I loved how you did the townhouse so much that I thought I would revisit and see if you had any other renovations planned and I found your tumbler pages. I guess I'm in luck, I'll keep checking back often. I really wanted to ask you about the kitchen benchtops that you used in the townhouse. I wondered if you used timber or if you used a timber-look laminate? Thanks!
Thanks for your kind words. The kitchen counters in the townhouse I renovated were laminate (shown in the next post - hoping we’ll soon be able to answer questions with a photo), though I wouldn’t really call them a wood-look.
I’m a big fan of laminate for kitchen counters, though I know I’m swimming against the tide on that one. I know many people like granite and other stone or artificial stone surfaces, but I find them hard, cold, and unappealing.
For my current kitchen project, I’ll be using a combination of laminate and Corian. Corian is a solid surface like stone, but much softer and warmer to the touch.
