A good friend came over this evening to present me with a wonderful gift: two chunks of sap he had pried off a tree. He said when he saw them glistening in the sun he immediately thought of me, and he didn’t care that people were staring at him like he was crazy. :)
I set about making stands for them right away. I wanted to make sure to mount them before the sticky, newly-exposed inside hardened. I decided my miniature Eames walnut stools would make the perfect pedestals. Then I dug up some wooden barbecue skewers from the junk drawer, stained them to match, and drilled holes in the upside-down stools.
Voila! Two beautiful new objets.
